Land Rovers have been in service with the UK military for a considerable time and in the 1990s, Ricardo Vehicle Engineering produced the WMIK (Weapons Mount Installation Kit) on a 110 chassis.

These protected patrol vehicles came in a few different formats, some of which carried more armoured and equipment than others.

This example features a strengthened chassis, a roll bar cage and various weapons mounts and is in fact the R+ (Revised) model which has a few improvements such as some light armour built into the chassis (now removed) and originally would have had full BOWMAN radio fittings.

Designed for reconnaissance and close fire support these vehicles carried up to four personnel and would have been equipped with a general purpose machine gun, a heavy machine gun and some form of grenade launcher.
