For the next 23 years it was owned by a VSCC member in Lewes who had the car substantially restored between 2013 and 2016.
The bills on file for this period amount to some £10,000 and include: full brake system overhaul with many new parts; complete overhaul of the electrics; distributor rebuilt; new headlights; carburettor rebuilt; gearbox overhaul; new uprated clutch; fuel system overhaul; all 26 grease nipples replaced; spoked road wheels rebuilt plus much else besides.
We are told that the car was then only lightly used before the owner became unable to drive and the car was put on display in a museum near Brighton.
