Condition

The car is described as 'nice and original' with a 'lovely patinated order' body and trim. The doors fit well, which is important for ash-framed saloons. Mechanically, the engine has been recently rebuilt, and various other components have been replaced or upgraded. However, some systems like the ENOTS lube, clock, fuel gauge, and interior light are not working. The car has some modern upgrades like LED lights and a partial stainless exhaust.

Description Twin-SUs; Preselect box; recent Steve White engine rebuild; recommissioned and running well - driven to the sale; nice and original; good door shuts and fit This 1,087cc four-cylinder Kestrel dates from January 1934 and comes in Special Series guise, fitted with twin SUs and a Preselecter gearbox.

It carries its original Coventry registration mark and its history can be traced back to 1972 when it was living in Scotland.

It appears to have covered just 4,000 miles since then.

Our vendor acquired it from a near neighbour who had owned it for four years and covered a whole four miles in it - what a waste.

Clearly the inactivity over a period of many years meant some considerable recommissioning needed doing which was duly undertaken.

Fortunately the body and trim remain nicely original and in lovely patinated order, the doors opening and closing nicely and fitting well - a must on these ash-framed saloons.

He sent it to Riley guru Steve White at Lodge Motor Engineering ...
