AI Listing Summary

This 1933 Austin 7 Chummy is a rare, late-model tourer, notable for its four-speed gearbox and more convenient rear petrol tank. While it presents well and is ready for immediate use, it has been stored for a while and its full history is not known, potentially affecting its collectibility and value.

The car is described as presenting well with a good interior and starting/stopping as expected. Description Rare and unusual late-Chummy; ready for action; complete with weather equipment First registered in June 1933, this AJ Tourer aka Chummy is somewhat of a rarity.

Mass production techniques had perfected the all-steel saloon body by this time which had brought prices of saloons right down - motorists soon catching onto draught-free motoring out of the elements.

As a consequence, the open four-seater Austin 7 was not the most common choice and not many have survived.

Purchased by our vendor just pre-Covid, she hasn't used it as she had hoped and has decided to pass it onto a new owner who will enjoy it to the full.

Being a slightly later Austin, it has a number of creature comforts, including a four-speed box with some synchromesh gears, a more convenient rear petrol tank and a more comodious body.

This one retains its hood and side screens and has been starting and stopping exactly as one would expect since its arrival on site.

We don't know a lot more of its history, ...
