Description Charming little Minor restored in the late 1990s; 4-speed gearbox; alloy fuel tank; driven over 20 miles to the sale Launched by Morris in 1928 as a rather belated response to the Austin Seven, the diminutive Minor started life with a Wolseley-designed overhead camshaft engine also used by MG.

By 1931, a simpler side-valve engine had replaced the complex and expensive ohc Minor unit, which has stood the test of time and still stands as one of the most endearing small cars that Britain has ever produced.

Just under 40,000 of the overhead cam types and rather more than 47,000 side-valve models were built and there is a thriving owners’ club catering for these enduring light cars.

This charming little Morris Minor SV Tourer was first registered in Portsmouth in August 1932 with the number RV 2430.

A green continuation logbook shows that by 1946 it was with an Army officer in Pendine, Carmarthen, before moving to Birmingham in the early 1970s.
