Post '97 cars got longer doors, which made getting in and out just so much easier and by then, the Plus 8 had already gained a galvanised chassis and a strong scuttle roll bar as standard.

From '97 onwards they also got a stainless-steel bulkhead and stainless inner wings as standard, a real boon as the old steel items had a short shelf-life.

New from '97-on too were the superb SuperForm alloy wings.
