AI Listing Summary
This UK-supplied 1972 Fiat X1/9 1300 Series Special is a rare, right-hand drive Mark 1 model finished in its original green livery. It underwent a comprehensive body restoration in 2013 and has been stored in a dry garage since, requiring only light recommissioning despite being in excellent condition.

Condition
8
The car underwent a comprehensive professional body restoration, including a 90% bare metal respray and panel rectification in 2013. Since then, it has seen very little use and has been stored in a warm, dry garage. The interior is close to factory original, and the car is described as being in lovely order, particularly rare for a UK RHD Mark 1 in green. However, it requires light recommissioning due to its inactivity.

Description Comprehensive professional body restoration; very little use since; a lovely unmolested example for light recommissioning following a period of inactivity Designed by Bertone’s styling chief Marcello Gandini (of Lamborghini Miura and Countach fame), the Fiat X1/9 was launched in 1972 and was the world’s first truly successful mass-produced mid-engine sportscar.
A classic ‘70s wedge, the styling was derived from Bertone’s earlier Autobianchi Runabout concept car, itself inspired by the power boats of the late 1960s.
Endowed with superb handling characteristics thanks to its perfect weight distribution, it was initially powered by a 75bhp 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine and four-speed gearbox from the Fiat 128.
This UK-supplied 1300 Series Special is finished in its original green livery and was subject to a comprehensive professional body restoration by Graham's Garage in Montgomery.
