Condition

8

The car is described as a 'really super example' and has been cherished. The bodywork is arrow straight with excellent panel gaps and a lustrous dark green paint finish. The interior also looks very smart and original. The only defect mentioned is some cracks in the fabric above the radio on the dash top. The car has been starting promptly and running well. I would rate this car as excellent.

Description Current owner 11 years; a really super example of this classic executive saloon The largest and most upmarket car in the Ford range, the six-cylinder Zodiac MkIII came out in 1962 and remained on sale until 1966 when it was replaced by the more severe and angular MkIV.

Aimed squarely at the executive class of the Swinging Sixties, it had crisp transatlantic styling and a luxurious interior with lashings of chrome and a wood veneer dash.

Power came from a 109bhp 2,553cc straight-six mated to a four-speed all synchro column-change manual gearbox which gave it a top speed of 101mph.

Braking was servo-assisted with discs at the front and drums at the rear.

First registered in Birmingham in April 1965, this lovely Zodiac has had seven owners from new and has been in the current ownership since 2012.

Although there is no early history with the car, it has clearly been cherished and it looks most attractive indeed.

Various old MOTs show that the car has only covered some 5,5...
