Vehicle Details
AI Listing Summary
This 1972 Triumph Stag is a running, usable example with a manual O/D gearbox and its original V8 engine. While the paint shows its age and the overdrive is disconnected, it presents well with a good hood and brightwork. Note that the history file is missing, requiring the new owner to apply for a log book.

Condition
5
The car is described as 'straight and usable' but with paint showing signs of age. It starts and runs well, suggesting good mechanical condition, but the overdrive is disconnected. Cosmetically, it has a good Mohair hood and brightwork, but the wheels are period ones painted black with polished rims, which might not appeal to all buyers. The lack of history and need to apply for a log book detract from its overall appeal.

1972 Triumph Stag Straight and usable soft-top Stag with manual O/D 'box, black vinyl interior and original engine Dating from 1972 this pretty blue Stag was first registered in February 1973 and has retained the correct 2997cc Triumph V8 engine which drives the rear wheels via manual transmission and O/D (disconnected, the wires have come apart in the loose gear-knob).
Inside, we find typical black vinyl seats, wood dash and electric windows and the odometer indicates 52,438 miles.
Starting promptly with a booster pack the car ran well, with that lovely V8 burble synonymous with the Stag.
We are told the engine was rebuilt not too long ago.
The paintwork shows some signs of age but the car looks sound enough and sits well with a good Mohair hood, nice brightwork and period wheels painted black with polished rims.
The car is of course MOT exempt, an online check showing that the last time it was presented for MOT was in 2006 at 52,418 miles with just two minor advisories.
