Condition

7

The car is in overall solid condition with slight wear visible in the paint, specifically micro-blistering around the sidelights, bubbling near the headlights, minor marks on the doors, and a scratch on the wing. The interior woodwork is in great order, and the seats have minor marks. Mechanically, there's an oil leak and a suggestion for a tune-up, but the engine was rebuilt recently. The presence of upgrades like power steering, disc brakes, and a five-speed gearbox enhance usability.

Today the XK140 occupies a sweet spot in the classic Jaguar world.

It offers much of the beauty and raw appeal of the XK120 but with important usability improvements that make it far more enjoyable to drive regularly.

It’s seen by many enthusiasts as the perfect blend of classic looks and relative practicality.

While the XK120 has the cachet of being the original and the XK150 the most refined, the XK140 is often the preferred driver’s choice.

This Drophead Coupé is in fine condition and has been in the care of the current owner for the last 16 years.

During this period it has been maintained by the same mechanic throughout, and in addition it had a major engine overhaul in October 2019 at a cost of £21,877.

This XK140 gleams in the summer sunshine and although we know full well that colour is a subjective subject, you can’t really beat British Racing Green for a classic Jag sports car, can you? The paintwork is generally excellent, although there are some defects to note.
