The car was sent to dealers Byatts of Stoke on Trent where, in an indication of the prevailing sales malaise, it awaited a buyer for about 10 months.
The first owner retained the XJ-S until around 1994 and it has only accumulated six more between then and now.
Current owner, Mark, acquired the XJ-S in October 2024 following a period of around 6-years in storage with hardly any use during that period.
Mark found the car in a better condition than he expected but set about appropriate recommissioning tasks.
