Condition

8

The car is described as being in excellent all-round condition and drives very well. The bodywork is mostly free of dinks, dents, creases, ripples or folds of consequence with only a shallow indentation and some scuffing on the lower section of the driver’s door. The interior is described as being every bit the equal of the exterior. The engine bay is notably clean, dry, and tidy.

This is a manual RHD Mk VI Park Ward ‘big bore’ 4½-litre 2 door FHC.

That makes it even rarer than a ‘normal’ Mk VI Park Ward car, and they’re pretty rare.

In fact, a 1987 letter from its second UK owner states that only sixteen were built to that configuration.

Another letter from him goes on to say that just twelve remained in existence in 1987 and that of those just two were in the UK, and one of them was in the National Motor Museum.

All, most, some, little or none of that may be accurate.

We don’t know.

First registered on 2nd April 1952, the car left the factory with black livery and was supplied to local industrialist Mr William Elias Willis of Cardiff.

It was specified with rear spats, featuring ‘Mavroleon wavelets’ at the base, and a Silver Dawn fog lamp on the front valance.

At some point between then and now we believe it may have been exported overseas.

It was re-registered with the DVLC in 1982 (on its original 1952 plates).

In 1982 it was recorded as being blue....
