This particular example is an early Gravetti, factory-built replica, meaning the level of finish is considerably better than a lot of the later home-built cars with tight and uniform shut lines all round and the period correct Ford Cleveland 5.8L V8.
Badged as a ‘427’ replica, the huge engine upfront is mounted to a 3-speed ratchet auto gearbox, meaning the Cobra is rather at home on the grand tour, especially with it being the long wheelbase model too, meaning humans touching the 6 foot 6 mark wouldn’t be too upset about the cabin room.
The transmission was overhauled by ProStreet Engineering in 2004 and the engine had been also refreshed in 2011 by the owner at the time, who we are told was/is an aerospace engineer.
