Vehicle Details
AI Listing Summary
This 1978 Daimler Sovereign, with 73,500 miles, features a 4.2L engine, automatic gearbox, and right-hand drive. Finished in Dark Blue with a beige vinyl interior, it presents well with a solid history file and recent maintenance, including new rear dampers and brake hoses. While the listing notes some cosmetic wear and the need for minor reconditioning, the car's overall condition and classic appeal make it a desirable British luxury car.

Condition
7
Based on the listing, the Daimler Sovereign presents very well overall with good shutlines and panel alignment. The interior is in good condition, with the front seats showing light wear and the rear seats in even better condition. Mechanically, the engine starts well and runs with good oil pressure. The car has also received some recent maintenance, including new rear dampers, brake hoses, and a Waxoyl treatment. However, there are some cosmetic flaws, such as scratches on the bonnet, a missing patch of lacquer on the fuel filler cap, and wear on the driver's seat. The Avon tyres are also starting to crack and perish with age. Therefore, the car requires some minor reconditioning to address these issues.

We sold this delightful long-wheelbase Daimler Sovereign 4.2 back in the summer of 2021, when it came to market from a Jaguar collector who’d owned for the previous nine years.
Finished in a suitably regal colour scheme of Dark Blue - none of your ‘Elephant’s Breath’ nonsense, back-in-the-day, eh? - with a black vinyl roof and a contrasting beige vinyl interior, it is still showing just 73,000 miles on the odometer and comes with a very good history file.
It’s MoT certificate runs out in June and because no MoT tester has ever had cause to mention structural rot and rust, we think the fact it’s being offered with a sensible estimate and no reserve makes this one of the most desirable British luxury cars we’ve offered so far this year! With good shutlines, great panel alignment, and the absence of the sort of car-park dents and dinks that betray careless ownership, this LWB Sovereign presents very well.
Of course, the colour helps and the Dark Blue hue suits both the car’s lines and ...
