The Maserati Quattroporte is a name that is synominous with Italian style, luxury and performance.
First introduced in 1963 at the Turin Motor Show, the Series I Quattroporte was designed by Pierre Frua of Turin.
The elegant 4 door saloon, known as the Tipo 107, was coach built by Vignale and was initially powered by the race derived 4.1 litre V8, which later grew to 4.7 litres.
In 1966 Maserati released the Series II Quattroporte, which brought numerous cosmetic and mechanical refinements, plus the jump to the 4.7 litre engine.
The Quattroporte on offer here with The Market is a 1967 Series II LHD example that is fitted with the very rare 5 Speed ZF manual gearbox.
According to the seller this Maserati Quattroporte was first delivered to West Nyack New York in the USA in June 1967.
It was originally finished in Argento Auteuil/brown and is believed to have been repainted in gold, possibly around 2004.
It has since been re-painted in red, which is how it presents today.
