AI Listing Summary

This 1951 Riley RMD Drophead Coupe is a rare model, with only around 60 left in the UK. It was fully restored some years ago, with amazing paint and bodywork, and a well-maintained cream leather interior. While the car presents beautifully, potential buyers should note the absence of a detailed history file and some minor rust on the wheels.

Condition

The car is described as having been restored "a number of years ago" and the paint and bodywork "looks amazing". The interior leather is described as being in very good condition and the undersides are "amazingly clean and tidy". However, one of the wheels appears to be rusty on the inside of the rim and there is no paperwork to prove how well the engine has been maintained and serviced. These factors suggest the car is in very good condition but not quite excellent.

The “big four” produced 100 hp and in its day was good for at least 90 mph.

Whilst around 28,000 RM saloons were produced - only around 500 each of the RMC and RMD models were built, with production of both ending in 1951.

Already part of the Nuffield organisation, Riley production was moved to Abingdon (alon...
