The Karif or Tipo AM339 is a luxury coupé produced by Maserati between 1988 and 1991.
Designed to mix luxury with sporty looks and agile handling, the Karif was announced with a limited production run of 250 examples.
This is exactly what modern manufacturers do now and with great success, however only 221 Karifs were sold with late cars being sold long after this build dates.
Only 32 were RHD.
So, whilst perhaps not too hot off the press in their day, 34 years on they have become a bit more desirable to say the least, especially by people in the Maserati circles.
Built on the same shortened chassis as the Zagato-bodied Maserati Spyder, they added a fixed notchback roof and used a more powerful iteration of their ‘Biturbo engine’, a 2.9L V6, giving around 260bhp.
