AI Listing Summary

This 1957 AC Ace Bristol Roadster is a desirable classic sports car with a documented history and recent major engine rebuild (2023-2025). It underwent restoration in the mid-2000s and has been maintained by Classic Performance Engineering since 2016, including a significant £33,000 engine overhaul.

The car has been in the current ownership since 2007/2008 and features overdrive and front disc brakes. While it has been repainted and was noted as being 'in bits' in 2003, the extensive mechanical work and historical significance of the Ace Bristol model make it a notable offering.

Condition

7

The car was restored in the mid-2000s and had its engine rebuilt between 2023-2025, indicating significant recent work. However, the listing notes it was 'in bits' in 2003 and has been repainted multiple times, suggesting it's not in pristine or outstanding condition. The price of the engine rebuild (£33,000) suggests a high level of mechanical attention, but the overall condition is described as 'Good' to 'Very Good' with some wear visible.

The success of Davis' Tojeiro sports-racer prompted AC Cars to acquire the rights to the design, which was put into production in 1954 as the Ace.
