AI Listing Summary

This 1922 Paige Model 6-66-D Daytona is a mechanically complete but largely un-bodied chassis, offering a unique restoration project with historical significance.
It presents an opportunity for a new owner to complete the roadster body in the style of the famed Daytona model, featuring its original Continental engine and Warner transmission.

Condition

3

The car is described as a 'mechanical canvas waiting to be completed' with no bodywork other than a firewall and rudimentary seats. The chassis and suspension have a preservative coating over rust-pitted metal, and the seats have aged, cracked upholstery. The chassis number was not found. This indicates significant reconditioning and completion work is necessary.

The three-speed manual transmission was supplied by Warner.

Paige's accomplishments and performance were demonstrated on January 21, 1921, when Ralph Mulford drove a sporty Paige 6-66 roadster on the sand at Daytona Beach to an American record for a stock car turning a 35.01 second measured mile, 102.8 miles per hour.

It was the first accurately and officially set American mile record for a stock car.
