AI Listing Summary
This 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Sportsman Convertible is a rare example, with only 3,025 built. It underwent a comprehensive restoration in the mid-80s and has been preserved on static display since, showcasing its unique wood detailing and desirable features.
While largely excellent, it exhibits some minor cosmetic imperfections in the wood and chrome, and will require recommissioning due to its long period of static display.

Condition
7
The car underwent a full nut and bolt restoration in the mid-80s and has been on static display since. The paint, chrome, interior, and top are described as 'excellent' aside from a small dent in the hood chrome spear. The original wood has some light water staining and discoloration in the trunk area, but the seller opted to preserve the original wood with patina rather than replace it. The engine compartment is clean but shows some carburetor fuel leakage stains and road grime. The car will require recommissioning and a thorough mechanical inspection as it has never been driven since restoration.

It was a halo car designed by famed Ford stylist Bob Gregorie, but it accomplished three objectives.
First, it was an example of Ford's mastery of wooden bodywork established with years of wood-bodied station wagons built in Ford's own Iron Mountain works on Michigan's Upper Peninsula using fine hardwoods from Ford's own forests for framing the mahogany plywood panels.
