This actual car chassis 'WBA121307' was delivered to Team Bigazzi, which together with Schnitzer was one of the two factory backed teams for the 1992 Deutsche Tourenwagen Meistershaft (DTM) season.

Being a works car, it received improved chassis specifications which were not available to privateers.

It was driven very successfully by British touring car ace, Steve Soper.


Across a demanding season of 10 rounds, Soper competed against factory-backed rivals, demonstrating the enduring competitiveness of the E30 platform even as newer challengers emerged.

He would achieve two victories that year: at Avus (round seven) and the Norisring (round 14) respectively.

Soper finished the season 9th overall in the DM championship.
