• Purchased new by Mr Strinati's mother • Believed only 4,612 kilometres from new • Outstandingly original • Complete with its original Karl Baisch fitted luggage This Mercedes-Benz 190 SL was purchased new by Madame Jeanne Strinati, Pierre Strinati's mother, on 28th June 1956 from Etoilauto SA, Mercedes-Benz's exclusive dealer in Geneva.

She part-exchanged her 1955 Mercedes-Benz 180, which she had bought in November 1955 (both bills on file).

The 190 SL was painted black with matching hardtop and a white natural interior (1097).

It was also fitted with five whitewall tyres.

Interestingly, there is no structure for a convertible hood, and all in-period photographs of the car show it with the hardtop on.

It would seem it was never taken off.

We were told that Mr Strinati did not like to get cold and so preferred closed cars to convertibles.
