The first car of his own construction was designated the 2-litre SC204, while his next effort – a 3-litre car – was the SC304.
Former Porsche engineer Kurt Chabek and Dieter Baatz were responsible for designing the SC304, which featured an aluminium monocoque with all-round independent suspension, and was powered by the ubiquitous Ford Cosworth DFV V8 engine coupled to a Hewland five-speed transaxle.
