AI Listing Summary
This is a beautifully restored 1958 Volkswagen Microbus, a desirable 23-window 'split-screen' model, originally from California. It has had one UK owner since 2014 and was professionally restored at a cost of almost €197,000. It features a reconditioned 1,600cc engine fitted in 2022, but has been refinished in a non-original color scheme.
Condition
8
The vehicle underwent a professional restoration costing nearly 197,000 Euros, addressing both mechanical and cosmetic aspects. A reconditioned engine was installed in 2022, further enhancing its mechanical condition. However, it's not in perfect original condition due to being refinished in a different color scheme (orange/cream) than its original Seigellackrot (Sealing Wax Red) with Kastanienbraun (Maroon) roof. The cream leather seats are also a change from the original specification.

The original retained the Beetle's rear-mounted 1,200cc air-cooled engine and four-speed gearbox, the latter suitably re-ratioed to cope with the van's greater weight.
