AI Listing Summary

This 1912 Ford Model T Torpedo Roadster is a project car with a sporting bodystyle, offering an opportunity for collectors to own a piece of automotive history. While some restoration work, like paint and engine detailing, is evident, the car is sold as-is and requires further completion, making it an ideal project for someone looking to enter the world of Model T ownership.

Condition

5

This 1912 Ford Model T Torpedo Roadster is listed as a 'project,' indicating it requires completion and restoration. The description mentions that 'much work' has already been done, including paintwork and engine bay detailing, and that the radiator and brass fittings are highly polished. However, it's sold as viewed, suggesting there's still work to be done to bring it to a higher condition level. Given the incomplete nature and the need for further work, but with a good head start, I'd place it between 'Average' and 'Above Average'.

Ford really got it right with the early Ford Ts and, when properly set up, they perform remarkably well.

In fact, most brass car tourers have a story about a pesky Model T driver keeping up with the likes of a Silver Ghost or Pierce-Arrow.

The Torpedo could be seen as Ford's first performance car, the standard T stripped down and with a little racer-type body.

The hood was lengthened two inches, and the steering column was lowered.

The result was a nimble and quick T with a look like no other.

Any brass T is great fun for touring but the Torpedo is the ultimate.

The 'T' here...
