• One of an estimated 65 3½-Litre cars built • Originally bodied as a saloon • Fitted with replica T9 Tourer coachwork The Lagonda M35R model was built in 1935 to provide a bridge between the departing 3-Litre model and the new Meadows 4½ Litre engined M45.

Its 3½ litre six cylinder seven bearing crackshaft engine was a development of the 3-Litre unit using a redesigned block which allowed for the requisite bigger cylinder bores.

The car used a Rapide chassis (Z11270) designed by Lagonda for the Meadows engine with the most obvious obvious external difference to be 3-Litre being much larger brake drums- a very useful feature on the 3½ litre car, with a higher top speed.

The Lagonda club records indicate that this car, which had Silent Travel Pillarless saloon coachwork, was supplied on 12 December 1934, it is thought through dealers Burton and Tweedy, and was first registered on 14th September 1935.
