AI Listing Summary

This is a Miles M14A trainer, serial number 1900, previously part of the Strathallan Aircraft Collection. It was fully restored during Sir William Roberts' ownership and has been hangar stored since 1999, requiring recommissioning. Only 16 of this type are known to the Miles Register today, of which only a half dozen or so are airworthy, so 'G-AHUJ' represents a wonderful opportunity for the connoisseur of classic aircraft.

Condition

While it has been hangar stored since 1999, the listing mentions it was fully restored while in Sir William's ownership including an engine rebuild believed to be in the early 1990s. The aircraft will require re-commissioning before further use, or would make an excellent static museum piece.

The 'Duxford' of its day, Strathallan was at its zenith in the 1970s.

Restoration work was done on site and the museum was open to the public most weekends, offering visitors the opportunity to inspect the aircraft at close quarters and talk to the pilots and engineers.
