Châssis n° 915462 Moteur n° 926291 Son usine du Portello dévastée par les bombardements pendant la guerre, Alfa Romeo ne put reprendre la production automobile qu'en 1946 avec l'inévitable reprise d'un modèle d'avant-guerre, la 6C 2500, sous diverses formes, qui constitua la base de la production d'après-guerre de la marque milanaise.

L'une des dernières créations du légendaire Vittorio Jano pour Alfa Romeo et dernière des Alfa à châssis séparée, la 2500 avait débuté en 1939 et était une évolution de sa devancière la 2300.

Carrossée en interne mais fortement influencée par les créations de Touring, la berline cinq places profilée Freccia d'Oro (flèche d'or) était construite en parallèle avec des coupés et des cabriolets, dont les carrosseries était confiées à Pinin Farina, Touring ou Ghia, et une berlina sept/huit places sur un châssis allongé.

La 2500 perpétuait la tradition de nec plus ultra des sportives à piloter d'Alfa Romeo, car, bien que les châssis à caisson aient été passés...
