Encore plus émouvant et significatif est ce rapprochement simultané avec le fils aîné d'Ettore, Jean, talentueux auteur de cette carrosserie unique qui serait sa dernière création.

La Type 57 introduite pour 1934 marqua l'affirmation de Jean Bugatti comme meneur d'hommes et force créatrice chez Bugatti.

Ce fut le premier type construit sous sa direction et il intégra de nombreuses innovations pour Bugatti.

Son moteur à huit cylindres en ligne et deux arbres à cames en tête de 72 mm d'alésage et 100 mm course déplaçait 3,257 cm3.
