Originally manufactured as a saloon, the car offered here has been professionally converted to left-hand drive drophead coupé configuration in the style of H J Mulliner's design number '7504'.

(It is hoped that further information about the conversion will be available at time of sale).

Chassis number 'SDD172' left the Crewe factory on 21st February 1957 and was delivered to concessionaire J Olding & Co Ltd of London W1 for their customer, Broadmead Wireless Co Ltd of Wimbledon.

It subsequently found its way to Los Angeles, USA, passing into the ownership of a motion picture production company based at the 20th Century Fox Studios in Beverly Hills, California.

On 27th September 1966 the car returned to the UK where its new owner was Electrical & General Development, a company based in London.

Novelist James Hadley Chase chose the car to feature on the cover of his 1977 novel, 'I Hold The Four Aces' (photography by Max Feissel) which would be issued in French as 'On Repique Au Jeu'...
