Holden's facelifted HT Monaro was announced in May 1969 and featured a revised grille, stacked tail lights while changes under the skin included new neoprene bushes on the front suspension, replacing the HK's steel bushes for a more comfortable ride.

The interior design was updated, with the old strip speedo replaced with more conventional round dials and the popular GTS package added stripes, bonnet scoops, unique wheel trims and optional houndstooth upholstery.

One of a handful of Holden HT Monaros exported to South Africa in 1970 (some put the total as few as 64), most were delivered with the 308-cid V8 under the bonnet (a few were made with the bigger 350-cid Chevrolet unit) and offered with either Powerglide automatic transmission or Saginaw four-speed boxes.

Externally the South African cars featured the rarely seen in Australia vinyl roof option.
