AI Listing Summary
This 1958 Chrysler 300-D Coupe, a rare survivor with only 195 known to exist, is presented in unrestored, factory original condition with 30,360 miles. Hailing from California, its body exhibits minimal rust and straight panels, making it a rewarding restoration project.

Condition
5
The car is described as a barn find in unrestored, factory original condition, with 30,360 miles on the clock. The bodywork is preserved by the dry California climate. It has a straight body, great panel fit and almost total lack of rust other than some minor surface corrosion in a couple of places. The floors, including the boot, are remarkably sound with most of the original paint still intact. The diecast chrome is easily restorable, the stainless trim is sound and the bumpers are straight and can easily be rechromed. The engine bay is remarkably complete down to the windshield washer bag and the vendor advises the engine appears to turn over. Overall, it needs some work to be in excellent condition.

A Chrysler 300 won the NASCAR Grand National and AAA stock car titles for 1955.
For 1956, a new 300-B model created the "letter series" that would continue for a decade, and beat the Chevrolet Corvette to the holy grail of automotive engines: one horsepower per cubic inch.
Chrysler's 355 hp 354 cubic inch hemi predated the "283 from 283" fuel-injected Corvette by a full year.
A convertible was added with 1957's 300-C, and horsepower rose to 380 in 1958 with the introduction of the 300-D.
Styling was a carryover of Virgil Exner's Forward Look of the previous year, with only a minor fa...
