However, it was withdrawn from a Bonhams auction.
Condition
6
While described as being in totally original condition with one owner from new, the listing notes the car has covered 164,000 kilometers (approximately 101,800 miles). This mileage, while not excessive for its age, suggests some wear and tear. The listing also includes a 'Saleroom notice' that the vehicle was withdrawn from sale, which might suggest an issue discovered during pre-sale inspection. However, there is no description of the quality of the reconditioning, so the rating is only 'Good.'

Description
Commencing in the early 1980s with the 'homologation special' M3, BMW Motorsport Gmb
H went on to create its own powerful 'M-Power' brand of performance-enhanced luxury saloons.
Launched at the Paris Salon in October 1984, the M535i was based on the medium-sized E28 5-Series saloon.
Like the 'ordinary' 535i, the M535i used the new single-overhead-camshaft 3,430cc six-cylinder 218bhp engine of the 635CSi coupé and was - uniquely for an M-Series car - virtually identical mechanically to the standard production equivalent.
Developed from the 528i saloon, the M535i kept the stock 3.4-litre engine while incorporating superior running gear in the form of up-rated road springs, Bilstein shock absorbers, thicker anti-roll bars and a limited-slip differential.
The most obvious changes were cosmetic, the M535i featuring a deeper chin spoiler, body-coloured sill extensions, deeper rear valance and a spoiler on the boot lid, while the interior received Motorsport seats and steering wheel.
