Vendue au profit de la fondation Damiano Tamagi Depuis quelques mois, la voiture proposée ici est devenue l'une des plus célèbres Bugatti de tous les temps après son séjour de plus 70 ans au fond du Lac Majeur en Suisse.
La présence de la Bugatti immergée était connue du club de plongée local depuis bien des années, mais en février 2008, un événement tragique allait précipiter le projet de sa récupération.
Le 1e février, Damiano Tamagni fut agressé par trois jeunes et battu au point de mourir de ses blessures.
Damiano et son père Maurizio étaient tous les deux membres du club de plongée d'Ascona (Centro Sport Subacquei Salvataggio Ascona, CSSS) et l'on décida de renflouer la Bugatti afin d'employer le produit de sa vente au financement d'un projet caritatif institué en mémoire de Damiano, la « Fondazione Damiano Tamagni » en faveur de la lutte contre la violence des jeunes.
