This complete and un-restored Riley Falcon is believed to have been in the same family ownership from the late 1950s and was only taken out of regular use when the owner’s wife expressed concerns about the safety of her young children riding without seatbelts! ‘CS 1212’ is listed in David G Styles’ Riley book ‘As Old As The Industry’ and features in the Riley Register records from the early 1960s.

The car remained in the same family’s possession, sympathetically laid-up in dry storage, until recently.

The engine sump had been drained and refilled with fresh oil, upper cylinder lubricant added and a liberal application of grease and oil applied to most of the car.

Having been off the road for nearly 40 years, ‘CS 1212’ will require careful re-commissioning, but aside from some fuel supply problems (caused by sediment in the otherwise sound fuel tank) this sporting Riley appears to need relatively little work to return it to use.
