the appearance, comfort, speed, reliability, durability and general efficiency of cars selling at many times the AC price; it combines these virtues with less running costs per mile than any car in the world of its speed and road performance.’ Edge’s eulogising was probably well justified, the ‘Royal’ being a well engineered car with a four-cylinder, three bearing, monobloc engine, driving through a flat plate clutch to a three-speed gearbox with worm final drive.

Cantilever suspension provided excellent passenger comforts for the four passengers riding in the snug two front seats and slightly more exposed dickey.
