This 2017 Ford GT is a pre-production development mule built in late 2015.

Used for powertrain and calibration testing ahead of retail production, it was constructed with hand-built components, including a bare dry carbon-fiber body that was never painted.

It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and features a carbon-fiber passenger cell with aluminum front and rear subframes.

Aerodynamic efficiency was central to the GT's design, with active aero components, a tear-drop shape and a curved windshield, all optimized for downforce and drag reduction.

A racing-style torsion bar and pushrod suspension system with adjustable ride height is paired with 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and carbon-ceramic brakes.

Inside, upward-swinging doors open to a fixed carbon seat, adjustable pedals and a digital display configured through an F1-style wheel.
