In 1948, Ferdinand Porsche produced a prototype AP-17 diesel tractor that went into production in 1950.
The first tractors were built in the Allgaier factory in Germany because Porsche didn't have a facility to build tractors.
Porsche quit building tractors in 1963, although some were still assembled in 1964.
