Description
Built in October 1992 for the 1993 model year, the Italian Job special editions were produced to celebrate the 1969 Michael Caine film The Italian Job .
Based on the Mini Mayfair trim level, they were fitted with the 1,275cc, 50bhp engine paired with a four‑speed manual gearbox, but had the look much closer to the style of the Cooper models.
The cars were offered in four colours: Flame Red (COF – BLVC818), Metallic British Racing Green (HAM – BLVC1216), Diamond White (NMN – BLVC655) and Electric Blue (NMN – BLVC997).
Production is generally believed to have totalled around 1,000 cars for the UK market and 750 for Italy.
This example was first registered in the UK on 6th March 1993 and is presented in left‑hand‑drive configuration (Km/h speedo), great for hopping over to the continent or keeping at a location overseas.
It may well have been one of the cars originally earmarked for the Italian market.
DVLA information shows one former UK keeper, who owned the car from new until Sep...
