A nicely-restored wartime WWII Willys Jeep, following de mob from the military, we believe chassis MB224095 was first registered for UK roads and civilian use on 8th November 1946, having been released as government surplus.

With a chassis number falling into the 1943 production range for Willys MB Jeeps—around 95,000 were built that year—this example appears to retain its original Willys tub, featuring the earlier 9-segment bonnet hinge used on pre-composite bodies.

The later 11 segment hinge was fitted to composite bodies from 1944 onward and was standard equipment on all Ford GPW tubs.

According to the vendor, the MB underwent a number plate change some years ago, from ‘HJH 191’ to ‘XXS 432’.

It is understood to have remained in the ownership of a single-family post-war.

Used by the present owner’s family since being demobbed, it was sold or handed down to him around ten years ago and subsequently underwent a lengthy restoration.
