A much under-rated MG for the connoisseur
Launched in autumn 1967 as BMC’s flagship sports car and successor to the Austin-Healey 3000, the MG C shared the MGB’s two-door monocoque bodyshell but featured a reworked engine bay and floorpan.
External changes were subtle - a bonnet bulge for the radiator and a teardrop for carburettor clearance.
Under the hood sat a 2,912cc OHV straight-six promising a 120mph top speed.
Despite its performance, the MG C struggled against the popularity of the cheaper MGB and was dropped in 1969 after just 4,544 Roadsters and 4,458 GTs were built.
Finished in red, with a black vinyl interior, this MG C was first registered on 9th October 1969.
