The original Abarth 595 SS was based on the Fiat 500 on which Abarth increased the engine capacity to 594 cc (just under the limit for the European 600cc racing class), with high compression 10:1 pistons, a special camshaft, Abarth Alloy sump, Valve Covers and Air Filter and distinguished by a 'propped up' engine cover and lowered suspension.

This Abarth 595 replica started life as a Fiat 500R and was originally built in Fiat's Palermo factory in Sicily in April 1975.

It has remained in Southern Italy for all of its life until being completely rebuilt to Abarth 595 specifications by a specialist dealer in Italy in 2014 and imported to the UK last year.
