1957 Volkswagen Microbus Deluxe ‘Samba’ 23 Windows


This rare and iconic Microbus Deluxe ‘Samba’ with its 23 windows left the factory on the 16th August 1957 for the USA, as evidenced by the certificate issued by Volkswagen stating that it is an authentic ‘241’ version.

Painted in ‘sealing wax’ red, it was sourced in California in the late 1990s and subsequently imported to Europe.

Guido Hommel acquired it from HK Engineering.

In fact, he had long been searching for a fine, authentic example of the first generation, still in its original configuration.
