According to its factory Kardex record, this Porsche 356 A Speedster was delivered new on the 7th December 1956 to the renowned New York importer Max Hoffman, in red with black faux leather upholstery and instrumentation in English.
The Kardex also refers to servicing work done on the 4th June 1958 at 19,450 km; and later in its life, this car returned to Germany in its country of origin.
It most likely spent some time in Bavaria and the extensive file of invoices included with the car indicates that it had significant servicing and restoration work carried out from 2000 onwards.
In 2025 it was sold to the current owner by the estate of a collector who ran a bodywork restoration workshop.
