The first Dutch importer of the brand, Mr.

Ben Pon, based in Amersfoort, was the inventor of this exceptional vehicle, which enjoyed outstanding commercial success.

His idea was to build a light commercial vehicle based on the "Beetle", launched in 1945 and christened "Type 1".

Its simple, uncluttered lines are characterized by large, smooth surfaces and a V-shaped motif, which forms the band underlining the beltline.

Glass-globe-covered headlamps give the Combi a family resemblance to the Beetle and Porsche 356.
