As a legendary French driver, Jean-Pierre Jabouille (known for his technical excellence and performance on the track) got his career started in national and European races.

He joined Renault and became a key player in the development of the turbo engine in Formula 1 and endurance racing, revolutionising the sport.

Jabouille remains famous for his historic victory at the French Grand Prix in 1979, as well as his victory at the Austrian Grand Prix in 1980, placing his name among one of very few French drivers to triumph in F1 at that time.
