Although it was presented at the 1927 Paris Motor Show as a new model, the Vivasix was really an evolution of the earlier PG with a 3.2-litre 6-cylinder engine.

For the first time, moreover, the models were referred to by a name rather than a type or fiscal horsepower rating.

Capable of more than 100kph, the Vivasix was a rather upmarket model with its four-speed gearbox, servo-assisted brakes, coil and battery ignition, and rear suspension with three leaf springs.

It remained in the range for a few years before taking the name of Vivastella in 1932.

Renault relied heavily on its six-cylinder models at this time and offered the smallest ‘six’ on the market, the 1500cc Monasix.
 
This Vivasix limousine joined the collection in 1969, when it was registered in Renault’s name.
