Before the advent of MPVs and SUVs, families generally turned to estate models to transport their children and luggage.

The estate developed from a purely utilitarian vehicle into a stylish car that was pleasant to use, which is perfectly reflected in the Evado concept car, presented at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show.
 
The extremely spacious Evado prefigured the Laguna estate, which went on sale as the Nevada a few months later.

In order to lose its strictly functional character, the designers gave the car a stylish appearance with a rear window incorporating the tail-lamps and, at the front, a smooth design integrating the bumper, headlamps and grille.
