This Renault 5 was donated to the collection, but as the bodywork had suffered a few bumps, it was restored by the team at the collection before they had the idea of decking it out as a police car.

The black panels are simply a wrap, a plastic film which can be easily removed.

The interior is in very good condition throughout, including the near-new seats, headlining, door cards and dashboard.
This Renault 5 was one of the last examples built, just before the Superfive was introduced, with its engine now transversely mounted.

The original Renault 5 was a tremendous success, with 5.7 million cars sold from 1972–1984: for 10 years, it was the bestselling car in France.
