This car was designed on the basis of a Formula Campus single-seater with a Fior chassis.

According to a letter dated 29 March 1994 from A.

Moretti in the Research Department, it came about “thanks to the R&D Communications department and a small team of Renault’s staff, who stepped up to produce it in record time – just six weeks – for it to be presented during the 1993 Monaco Grand Prix.”
It was built using components developed in the framework of the Elégie programme for vehicle electrification, itself part of the Eureka initiative, launched in 1985 with the aim of strengthening European competitiveness.

Again according to the letter from Moretti, the car was subsequently much in demand for various presentations.
